Sing J. Lee is an award-winning, Hong Kong-British writer and director who draws audiences into the intimate and often unspoken corners of the human condition. Known for a striking visual language, he transforms personal narratives into universal experiences that transcend genre.
Early recognition as one of BBC’s Best of the North led to international acclaim, with accolades from Cannes Lions, Clios and VMAs for his work with major global brands and artists including Donald Glover, Alicia Keys, The Killers and Pharrell.
A true multi-disciplinarian, his diverse artistic commissions include a sci-fi adaptation of A Midsummer Night’s Dream for the British Council and Dreamweavers, a short film showcased in Carrie Mae Weems’ Reflections for Now exhibition.
Recognised as one of Variety’s Top Ten Storytellers to Watch and selected as a BAFTA Breakthrough Fellow, Lee premiered his directorial feature debut, The Accidental Getaway Driver, at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival, where he won the Directing Award for U.S. Dramatic.
